Bowen is gentle. You’ll stay fully clothed, lying on a table (or positioned comfortably if needed). The session includes short pauses between sets of moves — these pauses are part of how Bowen works, giving your nervous system time to respond.
Most clients leave feeling:

I know what it feels like when your body hurts and nobody can tell you why.
My back troubles began when I was only 18. The pain was so intense that specialists put me on painkillers, antidepressants, and sleeping pills — and told me to “learn to live with it.” They even warned that I might end up in a wheelchair in my early 20s.
After countless tests, and a very thick medical file, the conclusion was always the same:
“We can’t find anything wrong.”
Yet I could barely function.
My first sign of hope came when my mum took me to a chiropractor. After just three sessions, the pain disappeared. It felt like magic.
But in my late twenties, the pain returned — worse than ever. Chiropractic care now made my spine hypermobile. Other therapies helped temporarily but nothing lasted.
I was determined to keep searching.
Then Bowen Technique found me.
I had my very first Bowen session just before flying to the USA for a seminar. The long flight was agony — I arrived feeling like “the crooked man” from the nursery rhyme. Then, by a stroke of fate, Ozzie and Elaine Rentsch — trained directly by Tom Bowen himself — were there giving a talk and demonstration.
I received two Bowen treatments from them.
When I returned home…
I signed up for their very first UK practitioner training in 1993 — and I have never looked back.
Bowen soon played a major role in my family’s life. My daughter Amber was born January 1994, prematurely at just 26½ weeks gestation, weighing 1 lbs 8 oz.
I gave her a Bowen in her very first week of life. Her pediatrician was astonished — she could lift her head… something unheard of for a baby born that early.
Over the years, I’ve supported clients from like my daughter a few days old to 91 years young — with many needing only 1–3 sessions to experience a significant difference.
I later trained in Equine Bowen Technique and have helped horses, dogs… even birds! (One of my chickens loved her Bowen sessions after being stepped on by a horse!)
Bowen transformed my life when it felt like the medical world had run out of answers.
It helped me move freely again… and live again.
Today, it is my joy and purpose to share this remarkable healing modality with others who are ready to feel relief, balance, and renewed hope in their bodies.
Bowen restored my quality of life.
Now, with gratitude, I offer it to restore yours too.
Supporting healing for humans, horses, and other animals

I offer Bowen Technique as a gentle, respectful, hands-on approach for people who value experienced care and a calm, grounded space to support their well-being.
Each session is tailored to where you are right now — physically, emotionally, and energetically — without forcing or overworking the body.
Duration: 45–60 minutes for follow up treatments
For your first treatment, please allow approximately 90 minutes, as we’ll take time to review your health history.
Location: Levin

Bowen is often used to support people with:
Because Bowen works through the nervous system, people often notice benefits beyond the original reason they came.
(Individual responses vary.)

Responses vary. Some people feel immediate relief or deep relaxation; others notice changes over several days as the body continues to integrate the work.
Common experiences include:
Because Bowen continues to work after the session, it’s often recommended to allow a few days between treatments.

Bowen Technique is a complementary therapy, designed to support the body — not override it. Bowen works best alongside appropriate medical care when needed.

Yes. Bowen is not appropriate as a sole approach for:
If someone is undergoing active medical treatment or has complex health conditions, Bowen may still be supportive — but only alongside, not instead of, medical care, and suitability is always discussed first.
Bowen Technique does not

Bowen Technique works beautifully on its own.
For some clients, especially those dealing with ongoing stress, inflammation, fatigue, or slow recovery, additional support can be helpful.
Alongside Bowen, I also offer PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) frequency support, which works at a cellular level to support:
PEMF sessions are gentle, non-invasive, and can be used as a complement to Bowen — not a replacement.
